Electrical Apprentice Training
Electrical Apprentice is a compulsory certified trade regulated by the Industry Training Authority (ITA). A person working in this trade must hold a valid Certificate of Qualification or be registered as an apprentice. This program of study satisfies the province requirement for electricians’ apprentice educational hours. Each semester is designed to provide the necessary knowledge to progress through the apprenticeship course and lead to passing the province licensing examination. Students need to be an apprentice to take this program. Upon successfully completing the apprenticeship program and passing a trade examination, a person working in this trade is entitled to a Certificate of Apprenticeship and a Certificate of Qualification.
Electrical Training Information
Ace Community College offers the training required for the Electrical Apprenticeship. Training is delivered in class and online, divided into blocks or modules for all levels.
- The Electrician Foundation Harmonized program is delivered full-time over 25 weeks.
- The Electrician Common core Level 1 program is delivered full-time over 8 weeks.
- The Electrician Common Core level 2 program is delivered full-time over 8 weeks.

Apprentice Training
Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which workers learn practical and theoretical aspects of an occupation. The Ace Community College provides necessary instruction to apprentices in the fields of electrician and construction. This Apprentice Training instruction prepares students for success on the Journeyman’s license in their respective trades.
