Solar Energy Technician Training Program

Comprising three distinct micro credentials, graduates emerge with a Solar Energy Specialist Recognition of Achievement, positioning them for success in entry-level roles where demand is high and earning potential is promising. Equipped with all requisite safety certifications, students are primed to embark on a fulfilling career journey in the solar energy industry.

Program Overview:
The Solar Energy Technician Training Program provides extensive training for individuals aiming to excel in the renewable energy sector, with a specific focus on solar energy systems. This advanced course builds upon foundational knowledge acquired in basic solar installation programs, offering the latest theoretical insights and practical techniques essential for complex solar system installations. The program covers both Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal fields, encompassing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting aspects. With a strong emphasis on safety and industry certifications, graduates are well-prepared for entry-level positions in the solar energy sector.

Career Opportunities:
Upon graduation students will be qualified for but not limited to entry level positions in the Solar Energy Industry with the following occupational titles: Solar Energy Installer,Solar Assembler,Solar PV Designer,Solar PV Sales Professional, Solar Consultant and more.

Program Accreditation:

The application is currently in process. No enrollments, advertisements, or marketing will be entertained until this program is approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. .

Length of the Program:
The duration of our program spans six weeks, encompassing a total of 180 hours of comprehensive instruction and hands-on training. This condensed time frame ensures that students receive a focused and intensive educational experience, preparing them effectively for their chosen career paths within the renewable energy industry.


General Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Possession of a High School Diploma or Equivalent, or
  2. Mature Student Status (19 years of age or older) and Proof of English Language Proficiency.

English Language Proficiency Admission Requirements
Domestic Students:
Domestic students must demonstrate proficiency in English by meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Completion of Grade 10 English, or
  • Successful completion of the English Language Proficiency Assessment Test administered by College Authorities.
  • International Students:
    International students can meet the Math Entrance Assessment requirement by providing an equivalent to Canadian High School Math 10, 11 or 12 with a passing grade of ‘C’. The credential must be evaluated and verified.
