Construction Drawings Technician

The Construction Drawings Technician program will provide students with the foundational knowledge needed to understand and create construction documents. The course covers essential topics, including drafting standards, construction symbols, scales, and the interpretation of various types of drawings. The course will emphasize understanding the relationship between design intent and practical application in construction projects. In this course, students will engage in hands-on exercises to develop skills in reading and creating accurate drawings.

Learning Objectives

  • Students will understand the various types of construction drawings and their purposes in the construction industry.
  • Students will learn how to interpret different types of drawings, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, and sectional plans.
  • Students will identify standard symbols, abbreviations, and notations used in construction drawings.
  • Students will develop skills to read and extract necessary information from construction drawings.

  • A comprehensive exam to evaluate overall knowledge and skills gained throughout the course.

Completion Requirements

Successful completion of all assignments, quizzes, and the final exam requires a minimum overall average of 50%.
